about silka:
Diagnosed with dyslexia and stilled by a stammer as a child in Germany, Silka has spent her life overcoming obstacles. When her family moved to the Netherlands, she had to learn her first foreign language— she now speaks German, Dutch, English, Spanish and French— and began a nomadic journey, earning her degree in architecture from the Art Academy of Maastricht, working in Amsterdam as an architect and designer, in Tokyo as a model, in Hong Kong as a book designer and illustrator and in New York as an art director.
She now lives in Pacific Palisades, California, with her husband and daughters. Her latest challenge: to entertain and inspire young girls and make them believe that they can overcome any challenge—to pass along the wisdom she has collected on her journey.
